Back in early 2012, I had many friends heading overseas on mission trips, but God had never put (and still hasn’t) overseas mission work on my heart. I felt like there were women here locally who needed to be loved on, encouraged, and prayed for as well. Retail shopping In Liberty Hill was also almost non-existent. As I pondered what to do with my newly received Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction, God gave me an idea and opportunity to move out of education into combining my love of shopping with a retail experience that would also allow me to meet, love and minister to women.
During summer of 2012, we found an empty overgrown house that transformed into what most known as “the yellow house.” With some brainstorming with a friend, the name “Simply Home Décor & More” was created and we officially opened Oct. 2, 2012. What an amazing journey it has been. Countless friends and relationships have been formed. I couldn’t begin to guess how many we have prayed with or for over the years, but it’s been one of our biggest blessings!
We rebranded on our 10th birthday in 2022 and tweaked our name to “Simply Home Boutique.” We were proudly recognized as one of the top 25 Retailers in the U.S. by Gifts & Decorative Accessories magazine in Nov. 2022 and again in Nov. 2023. We look forward to our continued success in providing a one stop shopping experience to our amazing LH community, and hope to spread the love of Jesus to even more in the days ahead.
